Authors of New Analysis of U.S. Health Reform Plans Featured During Conference Call

WHAT:

RAND Corporation researchers who conducted an analysis of the effect on insurance status and cost of the U.S. Senate's health care reform plan—as well as an analysis of the U.S. House plan—will be available for interview during a conference call. The analysis from RAND COMPARE concludes the Senate legislation, if implemented, would cut the number of uninsured Americans by about half and cost the federal government about $899 billion by 2019. Full details will be released Tuesday morning. As federal lawmakers prepare for a summit on health care, the researchers will explain how the work from RAND COMPARE can help the Congress and the public evaluate approaches to increasing the number of people with health insurance and understanding what those programs might cost.

RAND COMPARE is an ongoing effort to provide decisionmakers and the public with objective information about health care reform.
