Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma to Speak at RAND

Konstantin Kosachev, chairman of the Russian State Duma's International Affairs Committee, is speaking at an event organized by the RAND Corporation's Center for Russia and Eurasia. He will provide an in-depth assessment of the next phase in U.S.-Russian relations, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Mr. Kosachev was elected to the Russian State Duma for the first time in 1999. Prior to his service in the Duma, he worked in various Russian diplomatic missions, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He represented Russia in negotiations with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, as well as the Parliament of Sweden, and is the recipient of the Russian Order of Friendship and the Swedish Royal Order of the North Star. Kosachev received his Ph.D. from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
