Financial Literacy Experts Available During Major Conference in Washington, D.C.

WHAT:

Leaders from the field of financial literacy will discuss developments about the topic during a major two-day conference taking place in Washington, D.C. The conference is sponsored by the Financial Literacy Center and the Social Security Administration. The event will feature expert panels, interactive demonstrations of computer game software, survey tools, and videos designed to help improve the public's financial knowledge. Many studies have shown that financial literacy is low among Americans, with too few people knowing how to adequately save, invest, and manage their money. Key presenters at the conference will include Annamaria Lusardi of Dartmouth, Olivia S. Mitchell of the Wharton School, Peter Tufano of the Harvard Business School, and behavioral economists David Laibson and Brigitte Madrian from Harvard.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Opportunity to interview center directors from RAND, Dartmouth, Wharton, and the Social Security Administration from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Nov. 18.
