Arthur Kellermann to Speak on the 'Rising Costs of Health Care' at RAND Forum

WHAT:

Rising health care costs are a significant problem facing individuals, companies, and governments. As budget deficits loom at the state and federal level, how can the federal government expand insurance coverage while keeping costs down? How can the U.S. health care system become more affordable and improve its delivery of care to patients? Join Arthur Kellermann, vice president and director of RAND Health, in a discussion of why American health care is so expensive and what can be done about it, at the next RAND Issues in Focus program.

Kellermann practiced and taught emergency medicine for more than 25 years in public teaching hospitals in Seattle, Memphis, and Atlanta. As a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow in 2006–07, he worked for the professional staff of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, U.S. House of Representatives.
