Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research to Release California Independent Pension System Reports
| WHAT: |
The Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) will release a report documenting the financial health of California's largest independent public pension systems. As a single fund, these independent systems would rank immediately behind CALPERS as the second largest U.S. pension system, yet they receive limited attention. Also, these independent pension systems may have a more direct impact on the lives of California citizens than that of the statewide systems. This report explores the financial health of the 20 largest independent systems, benefit levels, and it projects future funded levels and their impacts on non-pension spending. California Common Sense will release a suite of interactive data visualizations that illustrate the findings of these reports under a range of assumptions on their website, www.cacs.org. |
